Hamworthy Roadworks Update

I’ve been made aware that Wessex Water is currently carrying out emergency roadworks on Blandford Road and Moorings Close in Hamworthy. I’ve contacted BCP Council, who have confirmed they’ve instructed Wessex Water to manually control the traffic lights at peak times, and that the works should be cleared and off the road by tomorrow.

I’ve been consistently raising concerns about the growing number of emergency roadworks across Poole, particularly where these are linked to failing utility infrastructure. This week I’m meeting with SGN, and I’m seeking an early meeting with Wessex Water to raise these issues directly.

The disruption caused by repeated emergency roadworks is not acceptable for residents or local businesses. While utilities are responsible for the works, BCP Council ultimately has to approve them, and I will continue pressing for better coordination and accountability.
